Reports have revealed today that the Chinese multinational technology, Huawei has officially announced the unveiling of a new recruitment process, called Cangjie for internal testing.
The newly recruitment, Cangjie is a HarmonyOS programming language system for entering Chinese characters into a computer using a standard computer keyboard, If successful, the new Cangjie will be a major setback for Google.
For a long time, the Huawei Harmony system has been available and the majority of the running apps are in the Android apk format. The android system ecological chain may be directly transplanted to the Harmony mobile phone due to its interoperability with the aosp system.
More and more developers will compile the Harmony system’s unique program format into app programs after the advent of the Cangjie programming language.
The Chinese tech giant has its own development environment, the importance of Android Studio software will be considerably diminished, if not completely abolished by developers.
The Cangjie programming language provides an app development platform for home programmers. However, Google’s Android Studio is experiencing a decline in domestic market share, and Android programs in the apk and aab formats are also struggling to survive.
It’s possible that if the Cangjie programming language succeeds, it will eat into the local market share of Google’s Android ecosystem.
Thus, it is not compatible with the Cangjie programming language, which means it is not compatible with the mainland market, whether it is the Google Android system or the open source aosp.
Last year during the Huawei Developer Conference, the Cangjie was previewed then the tech giant noted that the HarmonyOS programming language will soon be unveiled.
In an interview, Deng Taihua, the Huawei’s vice president and president of the computing product line, said the company will unveil the Cangjie by 2022, to integrate HarmonyOS and Euler in the application development ecosystem.
Euler and Hongmeng, according to Huawei, have connected the exchange of essential technology. It hopes to add a distributed soft bus feature to Euler in the future, allowing devices running the Euler operating system to automatically detect and connect to HarmonyOS devices.
Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s Managing Director, CEO of Consumer Business, and CEO of Smart Car Solutions BU, also revealed that the number of HarmonyOS devices has surpassed 150 million, making it the world’s fastest-growing terminal operating system.
