Upcoming Vivo X Fold exposed on Chinese subway station

As we just discovered on the Chinese subway station database, Vivo appears to be gearing ready to unveil a new foldable smartphone to the market soon— the Vivo X Fold.

Recently, plenty of rumors suggests Vivo is ready to enter the foldable smartphone market soon. In classic undisclosed device tradition, the Vivo X Fold was sighted in a Chinese subway station with a thick protective case intended to shield it from prying eyes.

The X Fold has a square-shaped inward folding screen, and there appears to be no apparent crease in the middle area of the panel. The intricate hinge mechanism of the Vivo is thought to be the fundamental component for the gapless folding display. UTG glass is also planned to be used to cover the foldable screen.

Previous Vivo X Fold features an 8-inch QHD+ folding display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, and a 4,600 mAh battery with 80W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

On the Internet, there is now only a low-resolution frontal photo. This folding screen model is roughly square as a whole, akin to a square; it uses a punch-hole screen design, and the camera is on the upper right of the screen, as shown in this frontal shot.

Although the left and right sides, as well as the forehead, are bigger, the frame appears to be the same width on all four sides, giving it a more regular appearance.

The most noticeable feature is that when the screen is turned on and the light source above the subway vehicle is reflected, the folding screen is completely undetectable and flat. For folding screen phone manufacturers, the crease problem has always been a source of frustration and difficulties. Currently, it appears that Vivo has a superior answer.

With the advancement of folding screen technology, an increasing number of manufacturers have entered the market for this new type of mobile phone. Vivo appears to be a little late among several major domestic makers.

According to a recent analysis published by Sino on the folding screen mobile phone industry, sales of folding screen mobile phones in my country are predicted to reach 2 million units by 2022. Let us wait and see whether Vivo can merely catch up with this developing industry.
